IMSAA Holds Annual Stakeholders’ Retreat, Rewards Staff Performance
Imo Signage and Advertisement Agency (IMSAA) on Tuesday 21 December 2021 held the 2021 edition of its annual stakeholders’ retreat, in a bid to raise its contribution to the internally generated revenue (IGR) of the state and provide better service in the course of doing so.
The retreat is an annual event established by the agency to take stock in the outgoing year while charting a new course in the coming year and beyond.
The theme of this year’s retreat was, “The 3rd Gear: The Booster – More Revenue, A Better Environment”.
The retreat was attended by top government officials and numerous stakeholders including the Deputy Chief Whip and Chairman of the Imo State House of Assembly Committee on IGR and Transport, Hon. Eddy Obinna, the Special Adviser to the Governor on IGR, Dr. Lawrence Nwaodu and Hon. Sam Osuji, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Agric Loans.
Also in attendance were representatives of the Imo Outdoor Practitioners (IMOP).
Speaking at the event, the General Manager / Chief Executive of the Agency, Hon. Chibuzor Umunnakwe said the retreat aimed at carrying out a review of the Agency’s operational performance in the out-going year and to set clear targets on what it intends to achieve in 2022 in terms of raising the bar in revenue generation and standards of conduct and behaviour of staff that would ensure the highest level of service delivery.
All these, he said would lead to the emergence of a more result-oriented agency.
According to the IMSAA boss, “IMSAA has come to cause a paradigm shift in the way revenue collection is carried out in the state. As an Agency, we will continue to challenge ourselves so that we will get better and better.”
The IMSAA boss noted that the Agency has made significant strides in the beautification of the streetscapes by introducing standards for aesthetic designs and displays of billboards in the state.
He called on all practitioners who are yet to adopt these standards of designs and displays to do so soonest or face sanctions.
To motivate and encourage better performance by staff and continuous improvement, the Agency singled out some members of staff for special recognition through the award of certificates of recognition.
Those recognized in this way were Mr. Angus Okoro, Miss Vivian Obi, Miss Julia Ekeanyanwu and Miss Chinomso Ijeomah.
Others were Miss Onyinye Ezuruike, Mr. Obinna Uzoma, Mrs. Chika Igwe and Mrs. Joy Ogbonna.

Presenting the certificates to the recipients the Deputy Chief Whip and Chairman of the Imo State House of Assembly Committee on IGR and Transport, Hon. Eddy Obinna urged the recipients to continue to conduct themselves well so that they would attract more recognitions in future, even as he encouraged other members of staff to continue to put in their best.
It would be recalled that IMSAA was established in December 2019 to regulate, control, and manage the signage and outdoor advertising environment in Imo State, which includes but not limited to regulation and control of placement of billboards and other outdoor signs, signages in business outlets, brand activations and events, temporary signs, and mobile advertisement, among others.
