The show of support came on Wednesday during a stakeholders’ meeting held at the ADC secretariat in Owerri, the Imo State capital, where prominent party figures and diaspora representatives pledged their commitment to strengthening the party’s structure and electoral fortunes.

Addressing the gathering, United States–based Imo indigene, High Chief Sir Okey Amadi, said his decision to align with the ADC was driven by his desire to be part of a political movement capable of making Nigeria work for its people.

“My interest is to join the right political party that will make Nigeria work, and I know the ADC will do that,” Amadi said.

He expressed optimism that the party would not only take the lead in Imo State but also grow into a formidable national force, delivering people-oriented leadership and improved governance. He urged party members to remain united, describing unity as the ADC’s greatest strength, and stressed that collective effort and internal cohesion would be key to the party’s success. Amadi also called for the emergence of credible and capable candidates who can truly represent the aspirations of the people.

Also speaking, the ADC Diaspora Coordinator and Akwukwonso 1 of Mbaise, Chief Dr. Uche Bon, said his decision to join the party followed careful observation of its ideals, leadership structure and commitment to positive change.
