Owerri West LGA APC Leaders, Indigenes Endorse Gov Uzodimma For 2nd Term

Political stakeholders from Owerri West Local government Area of Imo state, comprising notable leaders of All Progressives Congress (APC) and people of the area have lauded the state Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma on his leadership and developmental strides, endorsing him to run for second term.
The people came out en masse to give testimonies of the Governor’s finished and ongoing projects at a press conference held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ Press Centre, New Owerri on Wednesday March 22, 2022.
Leading the interactive section of the indigenes with the press, the Chairman of Fiscal Responsibility Commission (FRC) and a two-time Executive Chairman of Owerri West LGA; High Chief Barr. Victor Muruako (Ekwueme, Owerri West LGA) stressed that Governor Uzodimma is diligently working for advancement of Imolites hence the overwhelming support given to him by Owerri West people and the entire people of the state in the just concluded 2023 general elections.
Barrister Murako noted that the victory of the 27 APC candidates in the State House of Assembly election speaks volume of Governor Uzodimma’s general acceptance across boards, adding that the party has come to stay in the state as it takes the Majority seat to work for the betterment of Ndi Imo while joining his kinsmen to drum support for the Governor to run for second term.

“In recognition of the sincerity and great works of His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodimma as Governor of Imo State, I hereby urge Ndi Imo to continue to support His Excellency for a second tenure. I request that he be encouraged to continue the good works of which we are witnesses. For the records, this includes, but is not limited to improvement in general security, improved sense of responsibility in the management of public resources, massive infrastructural works, improved
welfare services and many others too numerous to mention”
The Sole Administrator of Owerri, Hon. Victor Osuigwe said since the Governor’s assumption in office, Owerri West LGA have been in good standing and in safe hands as regards developmental projects and meaningful appointments of the indigenes, adding that all the leaders as well as people of the area are doing well hence the smooth running and peaceful conduct of the State Assembly elections in the LGA.


Speaking also, the Chairman of APC Owerri West, Mr Humphrey Umunnakwe who passed a Vote of Confidence on the Governor to run for a second term, lauded the him for being a go-getter while appreciating the doggedness of the Chairman of Owerri West Joint Campaign Council, Barrister Victor Murako and members for delivering the party in the elections.

Adding his voice, the first Executive Chairman of Owerri West, Barrister Bethel Zimako (Ohia Ahuru Agu) emphasized that the State Governor has done well in all sectors of Imo economy, noting that “Owerri West have never gotten it so good in terms of government presence in the LGA, hence the people are out for a payback in the November 2023 guber elections”

The Special Adviser on Imo Orientation and former Chairman, NUJ Imo State, Dr Fidel Onyeneke who spoke intermittently, stressed that Governor Uzodimma has shown himself approved in terms of people oriented leadership and projects across the state, especially the LGA hence the call for him to run for Governorship while urging media practitioners to continue living up to expectations of informing and educating Imolites.

The conference was highly attended by leaders and people of Owerri West LGA such as Prof. Eugene Opara- Commissioner for Petroleum Imo state, Lady Oby Oguzie PhD, Mrs Blessing Oduocha, Mr Okpe, Prince Amako (No Vex), among others.
