Imo State Government has been reminded of the need to rehabilitate the ever busy Nekede/Ihiagwa Road as soon as the rain stops in order to improve better living among residents of the areas.
This is stated by Member, Interim Management Committee, Owerri West local government area, representing Nekede Ward 7, Hon Emenyeonu Finan Onyewuchi(Plana), while having audience with our reporter at Umudibia Primary School, recently during the 2019 Umudibia August Women Meeting.
He said when the Road is rehabilitated, it will ease traffic and encourage production: commercial, farming, social and educational activities, boosting economy of the communities including Imo internally generated revenue.
Emenyeonu says he is confident that Governor Emeka Ihedioha would rehabilitate the deplorable Nekede/Ihiagwa Road as soon as the rain stops, describing Ihedioha as a man of his word.
According to Emenyeonu, “the Road is among Roads captured fot rehabilitation by government as soon as the rain halts as it is in line with the Rebuild Imo Agenda of PDP led administration”.
He added that “Owerri West people are hopeful that Roads, relevant structures, healthcare centres, electricity, education and employment or empowerment opportunities will be the hallmark of the communities so that insecurity and youth restiveness would be contained”.
Emenyeonu reassured Governor Emeka Ihedioha that Owerri West will continue to support his government to achieve positive results of peace and development.
The Owerri West PDP Chieftain who appreciated Umudibia Women Association for organizing the 2019 August Women Meeting, hailed them for rolling out a tangible project of an Ultra Modern Civic Centre which would be multi- dimensional.
Emenyeonu, alongside the Interim Management Committee Chairman of Owerri West, donated handsomely to the project and promised the women of his continued responsive assistance, encouraging them to always be of good charge while catering for their families to sustain love, peace, prosperity and comfort living.
