Association of Onitsha Road Industrial Layout Owerri Appeals to Government on Infrastructure

The Association of Onitsha Road Industrial Layout Owerri, has appealeded to Imo State Government to install basic infrastructure as water, road and power including security to make the Industrial Layout come back to life to engender development and improve living.
The association said such a feat when achieved would transform the area and attract investment to Imo State with employment created to people.
This was disclosed by the Chairman, Association of Onitsha Road Industrial Layout Owerri, HRH, Eze Samson Okwudinma, Traditional Ruler of Nneato Obibi Ochasi autonomous community, Orlu LGA Imo State, recently, when the Commissioner of Commerce and Industry, Barr Kingsley Ononuju, officially toured and inspected the Industrial Layout with a promise for rejigging and development.
Eze Okwudinma, Chairman, Highest Investment & Marketing Company ltd, who conducted the Commissioner round the Industrial Layout alongside Chief Okey Ikoro, an industrialist, Chief Kenneth Obieke Ogbuagu and Engr. Nwabueze Akobundu, hinted that the area has many empty wasting lands, being too large to house many estates, harping that many factories are not working actively because of infrastructure deficit, just as many factories had shut down, noting that “the Industrial Layout has over 254 Industrial Plots”.

Eze Okwudinma reminded Governor Hope Uzodimma of the need to even redefine and redevelop the Industrial Layout so that it attracts industrialization with a big boost to state economy and improvement on wellbeing of citizens.

Commissioner of Commerce and Industry, Barr Kingsley Ononuju, HRH, Eze Samson Okwudinma, with leaders of Onitsha Road Industrial Layout Owerri, recently during an inspection tour of the area.
While commending the Commissioner for embarking on the inspection tour, the association expressed “happiness over government’s approval for effective infrastructure and security on the Onitsha Road Industrial Layout Owerri for sustainable economic development”.
Reiterating that the Industrial Layout has over 254 Industrial Plots, founded in the 190s, Chief Okey Ikoro, Chief Kenneth Obieke Ogbuagwu and Engr. Nwabueze Akobundu, Secretary, Association of Onitsha Road Industrial Layout Owerri, urged government to ensure that water, roads, electricity and security are provided to sustain the Industrial Layout to drive economy.
The association thanked the Governor and the Commissioner for having foresight to industrial development, praying that God strengthens them that their objective for better Imo State is achieved.
They also reaffirmed their commitment to help government to grow the Industrial Layout which they described as the largest industrial layouts in the South East.
