Imo Signage and Advertisement Agency, IMSAA and Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Imo State Chapter have joined forces to ensure that Christian religious bodies in the state comply with the state’s outdoor advertising law which empowers lMSAA to regulate, manage and control outdoor advertising structures in the state.
According to a press release issued and signed by the Director of Corporate Affairs and Human Resources of IMSAA, Michael Onuoha, both organisations reached this understanding when the General Manager and Chief Executive Officer of IMSAA, Honourable Chibuzor Umunnakwe led the management of the agency on a stakeholder visit to the Chairman of Imo State Chapter of CAN, Reverend (Dr.) Eches D. Eches on Wednesday September 30, 2020.
Honourble Umunnakwe disclosed that IMSAA holds CAN in high esteem hence his decision to lead his team on the bridge-building visit to the CAN Chairman.
He stated that IMSAA has a mandate to regulate the outdoor advertismg environment in the state and carries out its function with all sense of fairness and responsibility.
“IMSAA is governed by the law establishing it. The agency has no bias for any group or religion. We are fair and equitable in our dealings With all religions and sects. We also expect that all those who come within the ambit of the law establishing IMSAA should obey it irrespective of creed, race, political leanings or other affiliations”
The IMSAA General Manager said the visit is mainly aimed at establishing a cordial working relationship with Christian religious bodies and organizations in the state which CAN represents.
“Our Visit today is because of our need to work with all churches in harmony to achieve our respective objectives and to remove all areas of real and imagined conflict.
