Laid To Rest: Prince Okechukwu Boston Onyejekwe – The Gentle Prince – Goes Back To His Maker
On the 30th of April 2025 in his hometown Imeoha – Mgbidi in Imo State, Okechukwu Maduka Onyejekwe – popularly known as Boston was committed to mother earth.

Born in 1967 to the family of the late Monarch – (His Royal Majesty Eze and Ugoeze Joel C Onyejekwe, Isi-1 of Isi Mgbidi, in Imeoha – Mgbidi, Imo State, Nigeria, Boston was the 5th child among 8 siblings.
Boston got his primary education at Mgbidi Central School Mgbidi, after which he proceeded to Mgbidi Boys’ Secondary School and later to Comprehensive Secondary School Awo-Omama for his Secondary Education . Thereafter, he ventured into business in Nigeria for a few years, before travelling to Japan in 1990 in search of greener pastures.

There in Japan he fell in love and got married – a marriage blessed by a beautiful baby girl. To the glory of Almighty God, Boston lived and ran a private business in Japan until his call to Glory on December 25th, 2024.
The funeral ceremony was attended by people and dignitaries from within and outside the country as well as government functionaries.
In an interview granted to our reporter, Boston’s older brother – Arinze McJoel, a Nollywood Movie Director/Producer says that Boston’s death has created a deep vacuum.
According to him, “the news of Boston’s death was so shocking it practically shattered me. I still can’t believe it, even now. But I know that God knows best and He is still God, and in everything, we give thanks to Him”.
Princess Uju-Ssyma – CEO of SSYMA RECORDS – sister to the deceased had this to say, “I sincerely don’t know how to describe my heartbreak. Boston was everything positive and lots more. I pray God grants not just me but my entire family and friends of Boston the fortitude to bear this loss.
Boston will fondly be remembered for his love for God and humanity, kindness and philanthropy.
As he goes back to his Maker, we pray that God will grant Boston eternal peaceful rest in His bosom.
