Imo Ranks High as Ijeoma Nwokorie Distinguishes Self, Gets Elevated as Comptroller of Customs

The Eastern Heartland, Imo state is all over the news for the right reasons and in no less measure of feats, but act of diligence, dedication, professionalism, and good conduct as Imo born Ijeoma Nwokorie is promoted to the zenith position of Comptroller of Customs in the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS.
The momentous promotion event held on Thursday, 4 January 2024, at the Customs Corporate Headquarters Abuja, where the Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, decorated recently appointed Assistant Comptrollers-General (ACGs), Comptrollers, and other senior officers is not a mere occasion for the name or fun of it but a conclusion of a painstaking appraisal of NCS personnel hence the promotion to the position of a “Comptroller of Customs” was conferred on seventeen officers of NCS across the country.
According to the CGC the 2023 promotion exercise was based on outstanding performance and merit, hence he called on the celebrants to align with his ongoing efforts to achieve his 3-point agenda: Consolidation, Collaboration, and Innovation, all in support of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Manthra.
As the case is, the height which doubles as a super recognition of Imo state as a home of dedicated and hardworking people who always make the state proud in all areas of human endeavor across boards, is worthy of a grand reception to further project the state, cheer up Mrs Nwokorie for being a good ambassador of the state and supporting the renewed hope manthra of President Tinubu.
The newest Comptroller of Customs in town, born as Ijeoma Stella NDUBUISI and married with children attended Mercy Girls’ high school , Umuezeala Owerri Ehime Mbano as well as University of Benin, Benin City, Edo State.
Moreso, Nwokorie obtained her Master’s degree in Public Administration from University of Lagos.
She joined Nigeria Customs Service as Assistant superintendent of customs in 1991 and have attended several courses before attaining the hallowed position of a Comptroller.
