IMO PFN Land Dispute Emerges as Bishop Korie Allegedly Failed to Hand Over Landed Property

The concerned PFN bishops and ministers in the state ably led by Archbishop Joshua Roberts Imoh are facing a dispute over landed property.

Archbishop Joshua Imoh, President and Founder of Freedom Faith Assembly and Prelate of the South East Bishops and Apostolic College, speaking on behalf of the concerned bishops and ministers said that former state chairman Bishop Dr. Maxwell Korie of Lifeline Assembly allegedly failed to hand over land belonging to the fellowship at the end of his tenure.

Speaking in an online interview, Archbishop Imoh said plots of land allocated to PFN Imo State during the administrations of former Governors Ikedi Ohakim and Rochas Okorocha were not transferred to subsequent PFN leadership. He added that the land given by His Excellency Ikedi Ohakim was dedicated by one of the notable fathers of PFN, Bishop Paul Nwachukwu. He argued that accountability, transparency, and stewardship are incumbent on leaders in Christian ministry, and said the fellowship would have been in a position to develop a secretariat if the properties had been properly handed over.

When asked if his actions were driven by an interest to contest any position in PFN, Archbishop Imoh denied it. He said he is only a concerned member who wants accountability and good stewardship, describing himself as a statesman and a voice in the land.

According to Archbishop Imoh, Bishop Aaron Timothy was appointed by Bishop Korie to chair the land committee. Archbishop Imoh said he contacted Bishop Aaron Timothy to inquire about the whereabouts of the lands. He stated that Bishop Aaron told him the documents had been handed over to Bishop Enyinnaya Egbo and Bishop Titus Akanabu. However, Archbishop Imoh said that when he brought the matter to the attention of the two bishops, both denied seeing any documents.

To this effect, the concerned bishops and ministers of PFN Imo State are demanding that Bishop Aaron Timothy and Bishop Maxwell Korie provide the landed property or explain to the body the whereabouts of the alleged property. The concerned bishops and ministers warned that they would pursue legal redress if the alleged property is not accounted for.

Archbishop Imoh noted that after 40 years of PFN’s existence in Imo State, this is the first time a sitting chairman is building a secretariat for the fellowship, something his predecessors never did. He described it as a mark of selfless service, resilience, commitment to duty, and patriotism to leadership.

The concerned bishops and ministers of God PFN called on everyone to support the ongoing project and thanked fathers of faith who have been at the forefront of supporting it, including Bishop Stanford Nwaogu, Bishop innocent Erimujor,Dr. Cosmas illechukwu, and Archbishop Steve Gbazie. They urged others to “queue in,” saying the chairman cannot do it alone and needs the support of all.

Efforts made to reach out to Bishop Korie Maxwell at the time of the publication were unsuccessful.
