Media Relations Consultant, Chief Dr Fidel Onyeneke has assured that his appointment as the Secretary to the Local Government (SECLOG) for Owerri West LGA of Imo State would give him the opportunity to further uplift the living standard of the rural dwellers.
Speaking to Newsmen after his swearing -in on Wednesday at Umuguma by the Executive Chairman of the Local Government, Chief Victor Osigwe, the former Imo NUJ State Chairman said that the masses at the grassroot level deserved much attention in terms of socio-economic development.
Chief Onyeneke promised to use his wealth of experience to enhance the well-being of the local government and its people through effective administration.
The former Special Adviser to Imo Governor on Public Orientation thanked Governor Hope Uzodinma and the Council Chairman, Chief Victor Osigwe for finding him worthy to serve the masses in this capacity, adding that he would apply the principles of the 3R mantra of the state government as he carried out his duties.

Chief Onyeneke expressed optimism that most of the social and moral issues which confronted the Nigerian Society in recent times would be appropriately addressed, if the local government system played the expected roles as stipulated in the Constitution of the Country.
Chief Onyeneke who reiterated that Authority and Power come from God, reaffirmed his determination to leave legacies that would greatly accelerate the development of Owerri West LGA and it’s Residents.
He solicited the co-operation of the Staff and indigenes of the local government as a deliberate effort to give quality services that would satisfy the needs of the people.
Chief Onyeneke pledged to serve with dedication, stressing that he would apply utmost transparency and Honesty in his dealings in the office.
