Amb Uju Counsels Parents, and Guardians On International Day of the Girl Child

Notable journalist and former State Woman Leader of Young Progressives Party, YPP Imo state chapter, Ambassador Chika Uju has called on parents and guardians across the globe especially Nigerian parents to support their female children to achieve their set goals.

Ambassador Uju stated this in her goodwill message on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 while marking the International Girl Child Day.

Speaking on the theme of the global event -“Invest in Girl’s Rights: Our Leadership, Our Well-being”, Ambassador Uju harped the need for equality at all fronts in society so as to give all a sense of belonging leadership, government and more.

She noted that the girl child is a blessing to the family and world at large hence ought to be well trained and as well be given all round support in society to make a statement in issues in society.

The former Woman leader equally charged female youths to remain, focused, firefighter and resilent in their struggles to make it in life, adding that they are blessings to society.

“Let them continue to be a blessing to the family. Parents should train them by giving them a quality education. They should shun vices that will ridicule them and family”

Ambassador Uju who doubles as the President general of ‘Idi n’otu women; ‘Ukwuinyi Nnanano Nkwerre’called on the general public not to curtail girls’ and women’s rights as it does not only endanger female genders but as well roll back progress on gender equality.

However, the International Day of the Girl (IDG) – observed annually on 11 October is a global platform to advocate for the full spectrum of girls’ rights. The observation supports more opportunity for girls and increases awareness of gender inequality.
