NUJ Zone C commiserates with Imo Council over Vice Chairman’s death
The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Zone C (South East) have expressed grief about the sudden death of the Vice Chairman of NUJ Imo State Council, Comrade Emma Odibo on Monday, December 9, 2024.
The South East Zonal Secretary, Comrade Ezenwa Adiuku in a condolence letter made available to this newspaper, described the late Emma Odibo as a jolly good fellow, an examplary gentleman of the press, whom Imo NUJ as well as the union at large will painfully miss; having paid his dues in the journalism profession.
Comrade Adiuku prayed God to grant the immediate and NUJ family members the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
“The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Zone C (South East) is saddened by the news of the sudden death of the Vice Chairman of NUJ Imo State Council, Comrade Emma Odibo last Monday.
“Late Comrade Odibo was an experienced and committed member of the NUJ, a serving Vice Chairman and a former member of the National Executive Council, NEC, of our great Union”
“He was a true professional having worked for many years in the newsrooms of various prominent news tabloids”
“NUJ Zone C expresses her sincere condolences to the immediate family and NUJ Imo Council for the demise of Comrade Odibo”
“We pray God to grant his immediate family and NUJ Imo Council the fortitude to bear his untimely death
“It is our hope that he is already resting in the bosom of his creator where there will be no more pain or worries.
“Adieu our great comrade until we all meet on that glorious morning to part no more”
