Eze Egbukole Reassures Of Unity As His Coronation Ends Amidst Pomp

‘Unity of Purpose’ appears to be the catch-phrase of the traditional ruler of Egbu Kingdom in Owerri North LGA, Imo state, His Royal Majesty, Eze Mitchell Uchenna Egbukole, Ochoronma VI of Egbu as he would not stop to maintain his stance in the positive factor that spills love, peace and unity not only in the community but in the state and country.

This, he reassured during his coronation last week amidst a mammoth crowd that came to grace the ceremonial event in the royal palace and court, Egbu. Though, the Monarch had before the event been armed with the royal authority from the kingdom and subsequently received a staff of office from the state government.

The event took place at the newly constructed ultra modern- Royal Palace which had been officially commissioned with prayers.

After the traditional performances of the Oha Egbu council led by Oha Dickson Agoha, the chairman of the central planning committee of the coronation, Prof. Ndukwe Ibe highlighted some of the feats achieved by the royal father in a short span among which includes the

modernization of the kingdom’s festival named “Mgbubuzo” that is backed with Christianity, ethics and glamour; the introduction of “Eshi Egbu”, an annual event annually celebrated to rededicate Egbu kingdom to God and to re-invigorate the people’s commitment to the community.

Prof Ndukwe Ibe said that the Eze has achieved much in the areas of Education, health, security, road network, intra- community affairs, and digital communication.

In his message on behalf of Egbu Town General Assembly, ETGA, the President- General, Prof Sidney Onyeagu has described the Eze as pragmatic and digital leader, expressing satisfaction over the way the coronation ceremony was organized.

The occasion was well attended by personalities from different quarters among which include the government functionaries, traditional rulers, members of the National Assembly and state Houses of Assembly, Nde Oha Egbu, the executive members of the ETGA, members of the Eze cabinet; women groups, youth groups, age grade group.

Meanwhile, many more goodwill messages have continued to flow the side of the royal father from all over the world.
