UCEI Set to Launch Cooperative, Empower Imo Women ||| NEWS CORNER

Frontline humanitarian organization based in Imo state, Uju Charity And Empowerment Initiative, UCEI is set to make another history around town as it gears up to launch Internationally powered Women of Chambers and Commerce Cooperative Society aimed at empowering women in a bid to support and give them a sense of belonging to the scheme of things in society.
The high-powered programme which is scheduled to hold on Wednesday April 23, 2025 at Dan Anyiam Stadium with the Theme “She Financial Inclusion”, according to UCEI management is to balance gender discrimination, and bias as well as encourage financial independence among women.
Speaking on the programme, the founder of the foundation, Amb. Chika Uju said “women are often excluded from scheme of things globally mostly from financial system due to cultural background and the exclusion has dealt heavy blows to the growth of the economy as well as development in our communities” hence she urged women to brace up to the challenges by queuing into the system to elevate their poor conditions for a better tomorrow
Amb. Uju equally urge the federal government and other financial institutions/authorities to extend a hand of fellowship to women in order to give all a sense of belonging, adding that “where there is no woman, there is no nation”
The event will feature paper presentations on “Gender Financial Inclusion” by a Management Consultant, Chief Dr Paschal Chukwuemeka Nlem; and “Women And Investment Opportunities Through Cooperative Society” by Dr Emeka Onyema from Department of Sociology, faculty of Social Sciences, Imo State University Owerri.
Other presentations will be on “Women Financial Inclusion For Growth” by Dr. C Promise Ubah , Digital Coach, Financial Analyst, Acting Director Dept. Budget, Finance, planning, Research And Statistics, Owerri North LGA as well as “Strategic Partnership For Economic Development” by Dr Silas Nwosu, a Lecturer and Management Consultant, Department of Insurance. Imo State University Owerri.
The empowerment will provide financial succour to the needy and downtrodden to enable them stand out in business among others.
To grace the occasion are noble men and women from all walks of life with Dr. Chima Matthew Amadi as the Chairman of the occasion, alongside HRM Eze (Dr) Douglas Okwara IV Igwe of Umuna Ancient Kingdom and HRH Eze (Dr) Oliver Ohanweh of Ihim Autonomous Community as the Royal fathers of the day.
