OBT: Late Deaconess Basilia Nwoke Laid To Rest Amid Life Testimonies …As Christians are Charged to Lead Godly Lives

Christians are charged to lead Godly lives in order to be at peace with their maker at the last day to receive the blessings of eternal life.
The Principal of Evangel Secondary School of Assemblies of God Church, Orlu District, Imo state, Rev. Pius Sibie gave the charge while delivering a Sermon at the funeral of Late Deaconess Basilia Ngozi Nwoke (Nee Ezeocha) at her husband’s compound, Umuakaji, Umuseke Okwudor of Njaba LGA, Imo state on Saturday February 4, 2023.


Rev. Sibie stressed that where one ends his lifetime matters a lot in the journey of life as more than three million people according to research dies every month, adding that blessed are those who die in the Lord for they shall be rewarded.
He noted that leading live on earth is like writing an essay that will surely be accessed by God.

Rev. Sibie therefore advised unbelievers of the Gospel not to wait for more time as one’s time can end anytime; morning, afternoon or night, and immediately he dies; judgement follows.
All the people who testified in their numbers about the deceased’s sojourn on earth, from the church, family and friends; noted that late Mrs Basilia Nwoke lived an examplary Christian life worthy of emulation, adding that she never failed to preach Jesus Christ and holiness at any slightest opportunity.


A family friend and retired clergyman of Assemblies of God Church, Rtd Rev. Amuchie Izunwanne prayed for the family, asking God to be with them in all areas of their life as they are now ophans who He promised in His words to be their Father and fight all their battles.



Rev. Amuchie added that long life will be the portion of the bereaved family while urging them to live peacefully with one another, and trusting God to see them through in all.
Committing the remains of late Deaconess Basilia Nwoke to mother earth, the Sectional Leader of Assemblies of God Church Nekede 1 Section, Owerri District who doubles as the Senior Pastor AG Adoration Assembly Umudibia Nekede Owerri, Rev. Vitalis Nwanne, taking his message from 1 Corinthians Chapter 15 verse 51-58 where the fate of deceased Christians was queried; emphasized the everlasting hope and reward of those that died in Christ stating that “Death is not the end but an End of Life on earth onto eternal glory of immortality.



Rev. Nwanne noted that “Mortality will wear immortality” alongside “Divine Transformation or Translation for both the dead and the living at the blow of the Trumpet on the Last Day” hence he charged the people to live and die for Christ despite what comes their way.
The second son of the deceased, Mr Mordecai Chidiebere Nwoke who spoke on behalf of the first son and family said their mother was a virtuous and God fearing woman who never compromised her faith in any way adding that the day would be an unforgettable day in his life but prayed for the soul of late Deaconess Mrs Basilia Nwoke to rest in perfect peace.
“My heart is bleeding but there is nothing I can do than Giving Glory to God”, Mr Mordecai weeped.
Speaking after reading the funeral oration, the last Son of the deceased, Mr Ifeanyi Wisdom Nwoke who described his late mother as a devout christian “who worshipped God with all her heart” stressed that he so much missed her good counsels, impacts and motherly care.

Mr Ifeanyi noted that his late mother was at peace with all and sundry, giving all her best at all times and prayed God to grant her eternal rest in His Bossom.
Many people from all walks of life attended the burial to console the Nwoke’s family and prayed God to grant them the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
Late Deaconess Basilia Nwoke is survived by five sons, a daughter three sisters, a brother, grand children and a host of other relations.
