By Ikenna Orioha
Member representing Onuimo State Constituency in Imo House of Assembly, Hon. Chief Uba James Esile, has told the opposition political parties in Imo State to withdraw their cases filled in the tribunal against Governor Hope Uzodimma, challenging the victory of APC in the November 11, 2023 Governorship Poll.
Esile added that the withdrawal of these tribunal suits against the ruling party by the opposition would demonstrate that Uzodimma’s rivals at the guber election have the interest of the people at their hearts just as the Governor.
Esile made the call when he spoke with the people of Onuimo at his home in Umuogbuanu Umucheke Okwe in Onuimo LGA, over the weekend.

Lawmaker representing Onuimo State Constituency, Esile James Uba, hobnobbing with his constituents.
He stated that the Governor who he praised for winning the election freely and fairly with large votes, earned his reelection through hard work, laudable, quality achievements in his first tenure, hence deserves to be undistracted with court cases.
“Those who are still fighting the Governor’s mandate in court are fighting not just the Governor, but Imo people. Those who are already talking about becoming Governor in 2027 in various guises should think twice and allow the Governor to focus and continue his good work for Ndi Imo and stop distracting him. Because after now there will not be another term for him to make a mark as Governor and we all know that he is really determined to Imo a haven. Second term is a very critical term in office and I plead that His Excellency be allowed to focus in redeeming Imo”, The Legislator warned.
The vibrant Legislator who evaluated the 27 over 27 victory of Hope Uzodimma in the last election, described the electoral victory as a reward from the people for his good work, positive transformation in terms of infrastructure, youth empowerment coupled with his firm commitment to fully reconstruct, rehabilitate and recover the state to the good of all persons irrespective of class or financial status.

Esile who is the Founder of Fresh Air Movement, maintained that “the love and trust from the people of Imo State were truly earned by Uzodimma because his democratic touch/achievements are all over the place for people to see”.
He posited that “the Governor’s zeal, passion to do more are also clear for all to see. So, all the accumulated love from the people manifested in the 27 over 27 massive votes given to APC in the entire local governments, which was a history”.
Thus, Esile expressed confidence that the Governor will consolidate on the gains, foundations of his achievements inch his second tenure and even do more.
On Charter of Equity, Esile stressed that equity means “you support other zones when it is their turn without fighting and distracting them. When you do so, they will give you same equal level of support when it is your turn without fighting or distracting you. Equity means do to other zone what you will like them to do for you. You cannot fight equity and still expect to benefit from equity.”

Esile urged the Governor to ensure that the Engineering Department Branch of Imo State University at Umuna Onuimo LGA takes off in due time to add to the social development of the locality, regretting that the dilapidated substandard structures there built by previous administration pose danger.
Esile observed that it is the prerogative of the Governor to appoint those he finds worthy to work with, saying there are capable men and women from the four major clans of Onuimo LGA: Okwe, Okwelle, Umuduru-Egbeaguru and Umuna with good leadership experience to aide the Governor to fully achieve his visions, appealing to the Governor to consider Onuimo breeds in his cabinet.
The lawmaker urged Onuimo people to continue to support the 3R Government, even as he expressed joy over the massive votes the Governor got in Onuimo, mentioning that the Governor will focus on building internal roads to link communities to enable farmers transport their farm produce to other parts of the state.
