Ohaji/Egbema Council Boss commends Uzodimma on Salary increment for Imo workers

The Chairman of Ohaji/ Egbema Local Government Area, Prince Marcel Amadioha, has commended Governor Hope Uzodimma for reviewing, increasing and implementing the salaries of public workers in Imo State.

Amadioha who gave the commendation in a chat in Owerri on Monday, said the feat is very significant and will not only encourage activeness, efficiency and assiduous efforts in the work force, but enhances productivity and revenue generation in the state, edifying the state.

He emphasized that the Governor, through the salary increment, the quality projects and good governance, had improved development, peace and security in the state as investors now come in, in droves for investment, just as tourists from all walks of life come around to enjoy the beautiful environment of Owerri, as well as savour its appetizing culture of peace and hospitality.

Amadioha who has been working cordially with the stakeholders of Ohaji/Egbema to maintain peace, unity, love and security in the oil and gas rich region, said he was very glad that the show of love to the workers by the Governor would place Imo as one of the richest state in Nigeria in terms of economy.

Calling on the workers to continue to work diligently, friendly while maintaining discipline, Amadioha urged Imo people to always lend credence to APC and the Shared Prosperity administration in order to improve development and good living.

Amadioha mentioned that the increment of Minimum Wage from #76,000 to #104,000 makes Imo State one of the highest- paying employees in the public sector in the nation.

He hinted that “Medical Directors who used to earn #215,000 will begin to earn #503,000- #508,000 (for entry-level positions), while Medical Doctors with senior positions will receive #1.2 million.

“Lecturers in higher institutions of learning will earn #222,000 from #119,000, while teachers’ salary had been increased from #76,000 to #104,000  (entry point) and #441,000 (end point). Other health workers’ salaries have increased from #77,000 to #108,000 (entry point) and #502,000 to #803,000 (end point)”.

The Ohaji/Egbema Council Boss mentioned that retirees have also been made happy as the State Government has  allocated 16 billion naira to clear outstanding gratuity arrears of pensioners, covering over 5,700 retirees across state and local government levels.
