Imo Polytechnic, the Best State Polytechnic says Rector
New opportunities are said to exist in the Imo State Polytechnic, Umuagwo, for those seeking admission into tertiary institution for the 2017/2018 academic session.
The Rector of the Polytechnic, Rev. Father Wence Madu who disclosed this said this followed the introduction of new courses such as, Mass Communication, Hospitality Management, and that of Paralegal Studies.
He said this is in addition to full accreditation of all its courses by regulatory body, the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), as well as getting approval for increased carrying capacity which will now enable the Polytechnic admit more Students.
Fr. Madu reiterated the importance of Polytechnic education over other Tertiary Institutions as having the capacity of impacting Students with Vocational education and training, skills and entrepreneurship development which enable them become self-reliant after graduation.
The Rector highlighted lots of improvement in the Imo State Polytechnic which have made it to be rated as the forth best Polytechnic in Nigeria and the third best innovative Polytechnic in the Country to include uninterrupted academic calendar, conducive learning environment devoid of distractions, partnership with some foreign first class Universities and international organization such as the International Institute for Tropical Agriculture (IITA). TETFUND and most importantly the high academic excellence of its courses.
Fr. Madu called on parents, guardian and prospective students to take advantage of the free education policy of the state government and the opportunity in the Imo State Polytechnic to gain admission this year into the institution for National and Higher National Diplomas.
