Governor Okorocha Commends Teachers

As teachers in the state joined their colleagues all over the world to celebrate their day, the Governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha has commended them for their commitment and avowed patriotism saying he will continue to appreciate them as governor and even when he must have also left office.

The Governor remarked that the teachers in the state had always exhibited high level of selflessness in the discharge of their primary assignment and in the way they handle students and pupils entrusted into their care.

He also commended the leadership of the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) in the state for its dedication.

Owelle Okorocha Credited the remarkable performance of students from the state in public examinations to the handwork of the teachers adding that as they care for the students, God will also care for them and their families.

The governor explained that the free education programme in the state would not have had the huge success it has recorded without the contributions of the teachers and noted that the success story of the free education policy of the State Government would not be complete without a mention of the noble role played by the teachers.

He  gave assurance them that he would continue to hold the teachers in the state in high esteem, make their welfare a top priority and prayed God to bless them abundantly.
