ALGON Chairman urges 10th Assembly Members to cooperate with State Executive Council ||| NEWS CORNER

Chairman, Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), Imo State and Oru West Sole Administrator, Adm. Hon. Ambassador Willie T.C Okolieogwo, has urged the newly inaugurated Members of the 10th Imo State House of Assembly to ensure that they cooperate often with the Executive Arm led by Governor Hope Uzodimma to move the state onward.

Ambassador Okolieogwo made the urge while speaking to our reporter during the official inauguration ceremony of the 10th Imo Assembly held at the Assembly Complex Owerri last week.

The ALGON Chairman enthused that the newly elected House Speaker, Rt. Hon. Chike Olemgbe, is a trusted, dedicated and humble gentle man haven worked with him recently as the immediate past Interim Management Committee Chairman of Ihiteuboma Local Government Council, hence he will bring to bear, the garnered experiences to drive the wheels of managing the 10th State Assembly.

He said when there is full and healthy cooperation among the three Arms of Government namely the Executive and the Judiciary there will be massive development in the state in terms of solid infrastructure, quality education, viable employment, artisanship, trade, agriculture, youth rejuvenation, social security and economic prosperity.

Okolieogwo urged the elected members to always focus on the robust primary mandates of Legislators which include; Oversight Functions, Qualitative and People Oriented Legislation, as well as effective and efficient representation of their Constituents, whilst assisting the Government, both at the State and Local Government Areas to provide the expected dividends of democracy to the people.

Okolieogwo hinted that Governor Hope Uzodimma fairly and affectionately worked with the 9th Imo Assembly Members, hence he was able to achieve great things for the people. His giant strides, he stressed, are encouraging productivity and driving commercial activities in the 27 Local Government Areas of Imo State.

While hailing the Governor for rehabilitating the Imo Assembly Complex which he observed was in shambles and dilapidated over the years, the Oru West SOLAD commended the legislators for peacefully and maturely electing the House Speaker and Deputy Speaker, praying God Almighty to give leaders of the state wisdom and strength to be able to pilot fairly and creditably the affairs of the state to advance goodness, peace, love and security.

Also, the ALGON Chairman appealed to the people of Imo State to maintain their fair and full support to the Shared Prosperity led Government, as well as throw their weight to the reelection drive of His Excellency, the Governor of Imo State, Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodimma, with a view to consolidating the democracy dividends and good governance for Imolites.

He promised the House Leadership of a robust synergy between the Legislators of the 10th Assembly and the Local Governments Sole Administrators of Imo State.
