Imo NUJ Hosts 2020 Legacy Awards Wednesday 18 November, Douse Tension

The Nigeria union of journalists, NUJ Imo State Council in Collaboration with Wells Network LTD has stressed its concluded arrangements to host the 2020 NUJ LEGACY AWARD to hnour and Appreciate individuals, Corporate Establishments and Government Officials who have exhibited excellence, Professionalism and exemplary attitude in their choosen Career and in the service to God and Humanity.

The Union gave the assurance against all odds and dusts raised against the event in some quarters in a press release signed by the State Council Chairman of Imo NUJ, Chief Chris Akaraonye.

According to the release, the NUJ 2020 legacy Award with the theme “Reward for Excellence” is the second in the series having been initiated in 2013 by the then State Council Chairman Chief Sir Innocent Igwe now NUJ National Trustee, to promote Accountability, Transparency and Selflessness in Public Services.

It added that “This year’s event holds on Wednesday November 18, 2020 at RockView Hotels Limited by 11am under the distinguished Chairmanship of a Business mogul, Sir Nze Frank Ojukwu while His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma- the Executive Governor of Imo State is the Special Guest of Honour”

“The two guest speakers on the occasion are Prof Protus Nathan Uzoma who will speak on “Southeast and Rotational Presidency-A critic of Equity in Nigerian Democracy” While Dr Sam Amadi will present a Paper on “Democracy, leadership and the future of Nigeria””

The leadership of the Nigeria union of journalists in concert with the Planning Committee therefore invites all to this Epoch making event aimed at instituting the culture of Excellence, Exemplary conduct and Integrity in our Society.

Time: 11am.

In reaction to a statement by mischief makers that the award ceremony is a scam, the State Council Chairman, Chief Akaraonye urged the general public to disregard the rumor as it holds no water.
