EGOGA Alumni Association Performs Groundbreaking Ceremony For Modern Domitory
Ahead of its 3rd Global Reunion, Egbu Girls Old Girls Association has done a groundbreaking ceremony to build the first phase of its over 300 million modern dormitory for its school.

According to the global President Mrs Ijeoma Enekwa, “If inspite of the dilapidated buildings, the students still win international competitions, there’s no telling what they will do with good dormitories, environment and ambience.
At its 2nd reunion, when it celebrated 60 years of the school, the Association produced a compendium to raise money for the dormitory. EGOGA also did a survey of the dormitory compound
Ahead of its first reunion, the group did a perimeter fencing of the dormitory area, to secure the girls. Individuals built a signage and gate, as well as wash bathrooms and toilets, Class sets built a kitchen, bought lab equipment, mattresses, and water tanks and chapters donated as notebooks and other materials.
A few months ago, the North American Chapter of the Association renovated a classroom block. Plans are underway to equip the classes.
The Association hopes to raise more money before and at the reunion to help with the completion of the dormitory before embarking on the 2nd phase.
“Individuals can take up the building of a Chalet and brand it in their name or the name of a family member.” Mrs Enekwa said.
The 3rd global reunion is scheduled for between the 18th and 21st of December.
The global reunion, which holds every 3 years, features the Winifed Hubbard lectures. The lecture was instituted in honour of Winifred Hubbard, the school’s first principal.
