Youths Charged on Good Conduct as YAN Abia State Chapter Celebrates End of Year ||| NEWS CORNER

Abia State youths have been charged to always exhibit good conduct as they strive for the promotion of peace, orderliness and development of their society.
This is stated by the Speaker, Youth Assembly of Nigeria, YAN, Abia State Chapter, Rt. Hon. Kachy Madukaego, during the celebration of End of the Year, held recently, at Confrank Hotel and Suit, Umuahia, Abia State capital.
The YAN Speaker noted that youths are critical stakeholders to every society, but regretted that Nigerian youths face more challenges than their counterparts in other developing countries hence hurdles while striving to calve a niche for themselves.
He reflected that “our youths especially Abia State youths are rich in talents. The commercial status of Aba has endeared an average Abia youth to believe in entrepreneurship, skills acquisition or business, but most of them lack necessary assistance to enable them establish themselves financially. The government of the day has helped many young minds gain empowerment corely on Shoe Cobbling at Aba Market”, saying there is still urgent need for government to critically look into other sectors where there are large number of youths concentration.
Madukaego also urged Abia youths to distance themselves from crime and anti-social activities especially during this Yelutide Season, adding that “Christmas Celebration is a recurrent event and such does not call for misconduct.
According to him, “we all have to be the watchdog of our immediate environment, the security agents can only assist when the need arises, hence it behoves on every indigene of Abia State to ensure the security of lives and property”.
Contributing, Deputy Speaker, YAN, Abia State, Rt. Hon. Daniel Nwuzor who is from Ukwa East local government area of the State, while delivering his speech, hailed Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, for his numerous youth oriented projects, reiterating that YAN is willing to partner government to ensure that Abia youths are gainfully employed to reduce crime, illiteracy, restiveness, cultism.
He appealed to the Transition Chairmen of various local government areas of the State to ensure the rehabilitation of major roads at their communities for easy movement.
Just as Confidence Ugwu, the Minority Leader of the House, in her closing remarks, thanked members for attending the event, while expressing hope that the 3rd Republic of the Assembly in the State will achieve better prospect.
