Open Letter: Former OCDA Boss, Ikpamezie Writes Imolites On State of the Agency, Imo

LETTER OF APPRECIATION TO NDI IMO;
INDEED I AM NOBODY WITHOUT YOU

Dear Imolites,
It’s amazing how things unfold and spurs one to a whole brand new horizon. To this regards, I wish to thank God Almighty for keeping me, my loved ones, beautiful wife and family, friends, well-wishers (and even nay-sayers), alive to witness the light of today. As a matter of fact, I can beat my chest and exclaim, indeed, I am blessed with the most loyal, humble, steadfast citizens which also includes you reading this message.

As a matter of fact, I have been trending online and offline, and I must say, “ I’ve been awe-stricken by all the well wishes I and my family have received over the past few hours”. But now, it’s my turn to say a very big thank you to wonderful people.

To you my Political father, His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Imo State. Hope Odidika Uzodimma, I say, thank you for letting me work in the capacity of the General Manager Owerri Capital Development Authority (OCDA). Working with you has been quite insightful and engaging. Your leadership prowess, judgement and discernment is superb and wonderful. God bless and keep you for us.

To you my fellow Imolites especially residents of Owerri Capital City, (whether we’ve met one on one, vaguely communicated, rarely agree), I wish to tell you that you have been my inspiration and drive to succeed.

Everyday, I learn from you, and this made me a better administrator, and a better man eventually. If I had told you that I would be able to empower and employ so many youths of Imo State, support even those I never knew, break the internally generated revenue in Imo, and still installed monumental changes at Owerri Capital Development Authority, You wouldn’t believe, but I can proudly say, it was a pleasure to work with so much love, energy and dedication at OCDA. Without mincing words, the best of me is yet to come.

We were able to achieve historic landmarks at OCDA in just a year and few months because Imolites were very supportive, Owerri Youths were awesome, OCDA staff showed me unflinching love and my beloved team were awesome. You all were the fulcrum that pivoted the angle for us to function and obtain such result. I LOVE YOU ALL.

Being the General Manager of OCDA was never a smooth operation. As stressful as it could be, delivering and showing capacity was the main objective of being in an appointed position. In as much as we did our core duty to sanitize the city and restore the Owerri twin city Master-Plan, I sincerely, wish to plead for forgiveness from any one we may have offended in the course of discharging our duties.

The armour of being General Manager of OCDA was so heavy, but we needed to fight with it. Now, the armour has been let down, I plead for a fresh start and those whom we offended would make a place in their heart to forgive us, so we can turn a fresh leaf.

There were moments that threatened to rupture the love and solidarity that binds us, thus, there is still room for amendments. However, bear in mind that we never and we will never witch-hunt any Imolite with powers bestowed on us. We will keep doing the right thing while applying human face techniques to the letter.

To my successor and my friend Engr. Francis Chukwu, I congratulate you on your new appointment. Being General Manager of Owerri Capital Development Authority isn’t bed of roses. Always start your day with prayers, cos with God all things are possible.

Before your advent, we have been able to create a befitting and cosy working environment, automation of approval processes that flushed away the archaic OCDA approval process and lots more. As you consolidate on the already existing landmark, I urge you to correct any mistake if any, focus and employ innovative skills to harvest more revenue for the government. break existing records without inflicting pain on Imolites. But above all, run an open door policy, and always be accessible.

Conclusively my beloved Ndi Imo!!!The future is bright!!! I plead with you to still BELIEVE!!! Not in my ability to instil changes, be the best among the rest, or even revamp and create positive vibes within my jurisdiction, but in your ability to truly love and project Imo positively and being good state ambassadors.

I am asking you to always hold unto that which Imo citizens are known for; peace, loving, and hospitable.
Better days lie ahead.

THANK YOU!!!
GOD BLESS YOU!!!
AND MAY GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS AND KEEP IMO STATE!!!

Your Humble Servant
Engr. Ikpamezie Innocent Ikechukwu
