Igbo Youth Assembly Worldwide Donates Relief Funds to Onitsha Market Fire Victims

The apex socio-cultural youth body in Igboland, Igbo Youth Assembly Worldwide, has visited the scene of Onitsha Market fire incident and made a huge financial donation to the victims to serve as funds relief.
Those who benefited from the largesse included members of Igbo Youth Assembly Worldwide who suffered mainly from the tanker explosion at the Market.
On the visit, the group was led by its President -General, Mazi Ifeanyi Nwaudunna, accompanied by the Treasurer, Gbuefi Nneka as well as the Chairman, Igbo Youth Assembly Worldwide, Anambra State chapter, Barrister Ezeife Obiorah and his executive members.
Chatting with journalists after donating relief funds recently, Nwaudunna noted that “while we are on tour around the Market to inspect the damage and loss caused by the fire. With overwhelmed joy, hope and enthusiasm, members of IYCW who are also victims of the fire disaster, were really overwhelmed to welcome their President- General, Mazi Ifeanyi Nwaudunna and his team for a well deserved visit and timely intervention”.

While speaking to people at the Market particularly the victims, Nwaudunna presented the relief funds and donations to the victims, assuring them of Igbo Youths Assembly’s continuous support and help until they are revived and reestablished.
He further advised the victims and the entire traders of the Market to always embrace safety while observing precaution measures as they do their lawful business in order to avert future occurrence, urging them to be ready for emergency all the time.
Nwaudunna after addressing the victims and members of Igbo Youth Assembly at Onitsha Market, presented a huge financial donation to the victims.
“The funds is a consolation and reliefs to the victims on the loss of their goods and properties, this is a sign of the entire Igbo Youth Assembly Worldwide’s love, care, concern and sign of being our brothers keeper”, pledging the Assembly’s continuous prayers and reaching out for the support and reestablishment of the victims.
Mr Chukwumeka Okoye who responded on behalf of the victims and others who benefited from the gesture, said the people “poured joyfully their gratitude and appreciation to the leadership of Igbo Youth Assembly Worldwide for the prompt intervention and support and more importantly for finding time in their busy schedules to sympathize and support them”.

Chukwumeka prayed that God continues to strengthen Igbo Youth Assembly Worldwide to progress, prosper and advance goodness especially to advocate for national peace and unity.
Just as Barrister Ezeife Obiorah, Anambra State Chairman, Igbo Youth Assembly Worldwide, expressed gratitude to God for using the group to affect lives positively, thanking President Muhammadu Buhari for his urgent intervention through the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Sadiya Umar Farouk.
The “visit and inspection at the Market ended with prayers and praises to Almighty God for His mercies and goodness. Because in a every situation we give God the glory”.
However, the prayers and praises were conducted by the Treasurer, Gbuefi Nneka who is the daughter of the Soil of Anambra State, evoking God’s protection and prosperity for the victims and the entire traders in the Market”.
