IPOB/ESN Invasion Devastates Amakpara Eziawa Village, Leaving Families in Ruins
By Ajibade Praise,
November 15, 2019 Amakpara Eziawa Village, Imo State, Nigeria – A devastating clash between the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), it’s Armed affiliate Eastern Security Network (ESN) and the Nigeria security forces comprising the Military, Police and the DSS has left several families in ruins in Amakpara Eziawa Village.
The violent confrontation, which occurred on November 15, 2019, resulted in the loss of lives and displacement of many residents, including members of the Onyemeforo, Uba, Omewu, and Udozor families. Eyewitnesses report that the clash began around 5:00 pm when IPOB/ESN militants engaged the government security forces in a fierce gun battle leading many innocent civilians caught in the crossfire. The conflict lasted for several hours, causing widespread destruction and chaos in the village.
The Onyemeforo family lost three members, including their patriarch, Mr. Emma Onyemeforo. The Uba family suffered a similar fate, with two family members killed in the crossfire.
Sadly, Mr Isaac Onyemeforo was also killed and his house burnt. Omewu, Uba and Udozor family homes were part of the houses that were set ablaze, leaving them without a place to call their own. Mrs. Nkechi Omewu, the family matriarch, was seen weeping uncontrollably as she surveyed the ruins of their home.

The incident
The Udozor family also suffered significant losses, with their son, Chukwuemeka Udozor, and several other youths in the community reported missing. The clash has left the village in a state of disarray, with many residents displaced and seeking refuge in nearby towns.
Some persons were said to have flee the state as well as the country for fear of being killed for not joining the secessionist deadly group. Consequently they have disappeared without trace to seek refuge.
Though the Imo State government under the watch of Governor Emeka Ihedioha had deployed security forces to restore order in the community, the brutality continued giving successive government of Hope Uzodimma no other choice but to continue to battle the armed struggle pro-Biafra group.
Though the battle to restore peace in the said local government is on going, but only time will tell of how well and quick enough the remnant residents will overcome the shock from the massive destruction.
