Imo Guber: Divine Mandate Movement reshuffles, rejects Ihedioha, pledges loyalty to Sam Daddy ||| NEWS CORNER
The Divine Mandate Movement, a formidable political structure in Imo state governorship race connected with Senator Samuel Anyanwu has after an emergency meeting of her steering committee on the state of affairs in the Imo polity as it concerns the Movement registered their grievance and stance in the primary elections conducted by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to produce Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha as the party’s flag bearer.
The mandate made this known in a communique signed by the Secretay of the movement, Mrs. Ijeoma Nwafor on Monday, January 21, 2019.
The communique strictly states the untiring efforts and moves of members of the Divine Mandate Movement to deliver and its principal, Senator Sam Anyanwu as well as changing the anomaly in the PDP.
THE COMMUNIQUE STATES:
-
That Divine Mandate Movement is a political pressure group founded by Distinguished Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu(Samdaddy), with members drawn from across interest groups in Imo State.
-
That the Movement is still very much intact under the servant leadership of Chief Peter Orji as the Director General and Evang. Myke Ikoku as the Chairman Campaign Council.
-
That the Movement’s core mandate is to deliver Sen. Samuel Anyanwu in the 2019 governorship election in Imo State, and that this position remains sacrosanct.
-
That the Movement is still in court challenging the outcome of the October 1st, 2018 PDP governorship primaries in the State which the Movement view as fraudulent and bereft of acceptable standards in the conduct of political parties primaries.
-
That the Movement is hopeful that the wrongs of the PDP guber primaries will be corrected in the court of law and that the name of our principal will be in the governorship ballot paper come March 2nd, 2019.
-
That the continued injustices being meted to our principal, Sen. Samuel Anyanwu by the PDP, though highly regrettable and condemnable have further emboldened us to pursue our case to a logical conclusion.
-
That it is true that the Movement took Hon Emeka Ihedioha and the PDP to the Federal High court to correct the fraud and irregularities that marred the guber primaries, it should be placed on record that Emeka Ihedioha has since taken us to the Appeal Court and the Supreme Court in an effort to stop the court from hearing the substantive suit.
-
That although some governorship candidates of other political parties in the State have approached the Movement, we still remain critical members of the PDP since our principal is still the highest political office holder of the party in the State.
-
That the Movement is fully committed to the Atiku /Obi presidential campaign project, and is more than ever before determined to deliver the project in the State.
-
That the Movement has emerged as the biggest and best coordinated political structure in the State.
-
That members of the Movement have shared vision and mutual respect for one another, and also insist that no human being is indispensable.
-
That the Movement is not unaware of the decision of some of her members to pursue their political interests in some other political parties or political families, and is obliged to respect their decisions.
-
That although the Movement regret these decisions, we believe these actions may not be unconnected to the injustices meted to our principal in the PDP governorship primaries, and the continued arrogance, impunity and high handedness of some of the party leaders.
-
That because nature abhors vacuum, the Movement has decided to immediately replace the positions of the members that have left the Movement.
-
That Prof. Protus Uzoma henceforth replaces Chief Chris Augonus Okoro as the Deputy Director General while Dr. Ijeoma Nwafor replaces Dr. Fabian Ihekweme as the Secretary of Divine Mandate Movement.
-
That the Movement commends her teeming supporters across the State for their support, patience and understanding even in the face of tribulations, and urge them to remain resolute in their belief because it shall surely end in praise.
