Amb. Ogbuagu Commissions Nkwo Imo Market Project, Pays Off Traders Levies

Amb.  Uche Ogbuagu who represents Ikeduru State Constituency in the Imo State Legislature, on Saturday, 25th Day of January, 2020, commissioned Nkwo-Imo Market, at Obodo Amaimo Community.

Commissioning the Project, Ogbuagu noted that the Market was a fulfillment of his election promise to his people who he thanked for finding him worthy to represent them at the Imo State House of Assembly- hence their mandate in spite of horror opposition from the ruling party.

The Lawmaker reminded the good people of Amaimo especially traders to keep the Market clean and organized always, while warning against trading on the Main Road to preventing danger and congestion.

Hon. Ogbuagu affirmed that he is a selfless politician and activist who has the good interest of his people at the bottom of his heart.

“I promise I will do more to lift my people productively, prosperously. Yes, the best is yet to come especially from me. I will not do you wrong because I love Ikeduru dearly”.

Charging the people to often hold their leaders accountable on good governance, the fearless and vibrant Legislator, instructed the Nkwo- Imo Market Masters and Leaders not to collect any money or levy from the traders for one year period to enable them stand well, reassuring them of his effective representation, rapport and cordiality to make more progress with a view to advancing peace, prosperity and godliness.

Praising Uche Ogbuagu for empowering the people, Traditional Prime Minister of Amaimo, Chief Chukwuma Awurum who expressed excitement about the Market Project, reiterated that the people of Ikeduru would always follow and support him as he aspires higher in politics and leadership.

“We will always follow Hon Uche Ogbuagu and keep faith with him because he is representing us well. And we wish him well”.

Ogbuagu’s friend who came from the North to identity with him, Pastor Mamza, assessed him as a good man who loves his people dearly, hence he is always bent on developing his area infrastructurally and economically.

Contractor who built the Market, Engr. Esther Ibe, Women Leader, Amaimo, added that the Market Project will encourage productivity and hardwork at the community as the people are predominantly traders and farmers, eulogized Amb Uche Ogbuagu for his quality representation, joviality and generosity.

The people of Amaimo, including strangers, came out en masse to grace the commissioning of the Market Project which they mentioned was commendable and spurring.
Traditional Rulers from the four autonomous communities which constitute Amaimo Enclave, Clergy, Market Men and Women, Traders, Motorists, Keke Drivers and Okada Riders prayed, ululated and danced to welcome and appreciate the philanthropist legislator, Uche Ogbuagu for the gesture.

“Dancing troupe of women of Amaimo was at hand to dance and sing, thrilling the audience who graced the memorable Nkwo- Imo Market Project ceremony.
