South East Journalists Felicitates with Governor Uzodinma on His Re-affirmation

The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ South East Zone congratulates the Governor of lmo State, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma on his re-affirmation by the Supreme Court of Nigeria on 3rd March 2020.
In a press release issued and signed by the NUJ National Trustee of ‘Zone C’, Chief Innocent Igwe on behalf of South East journalists said the review judgement of the Supreme Court has put an end to fierce battle for Imo Governorship over the months.
Chief Igwe while noting the personality of Governor Uzodinma and his Rehabilitation, Reconciliation and Restructuring mantra said “the NUJ sees the circumstance of emergence of Senator Hope Uzodinma as Divine and the Governor as an instrument to create and spread most needed prosperity in the Eastern Heartland”
He added that “Since all powers belong to God, therefore the Supreme Court ruling is a triumph of Democracy and Rule of Law and should ultimately translate into Good Governance and massive socio-economic and infrastructural developments of lmo State”
As a true son of the soil and former Imo NUJ Chairman, Chief Innocent Igwe hinted that “the high expectations of lmolites which came to a crescendo recently can only be assuaged through a performance driven, responsive and responsible government and we have no doubt that Senator Hope Uzodinma is well prepared to stand in the gap for the people and even exceed the general expectations judging from his antecedents of kindness and generosity to all and his indefatigable capacity to Deliver on mandate”
“We remind all the stakeholders that the time for politics is over in favour of the crucial matter of Governance of the state hence the need to support and assist the Governor to do the biddings of lmo people”, Chief Igwe advised.
The NUJ Zone ‘C’ called on the government led by Governor Uzodinma to always carry everyone along as well as put up a human face in all activities of the state adding that the union will always offer the needed support for the betterment of Imo people.
“As a consistent friend ofJournalists in Nigeria and the media in general we call on Governor Hope Uzodinma to always see and treat the entire lmo State as his primary constituency in all things as we offer the unflinching and indispensable support of the Union to enable the Administration accomplish the Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Recovery, Agenda.
