Payment of Pension: NUJ South East Commends Imo Governor Ihedioha, Describes Him as Jinx Breaker
The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, South East, has commended the Governor of Imo State, Rt. Honourable Emeka Ihedioha for breaking the Jinx that entangled pension matters in the state and ensuring payment of pensions after several years of despair by the senior citizens.

The NUJ Zone -C gave the commendation in a press release signed by its National Trustee, Sir Innocent Igwe on Monday, October 21, 2019.
The NUJ heartily appreciates the restoration of one hundred percent salary payment to lmo State Government workers by Governor Ihedioha shortly on his assumption of office as the state Chief Executive.
According to the release, the NUJ Zone -C noted that “These developments stem from the Governor’s exemplary commitment to the welfare of workers and passion for the plight of pensioners In the state”

“It goes a long way to show that Rt. Hon. lhedioha understands Governance and is fully prepared to provide good governance where words and policy statements truly match the actions of Government as there-in lies the honour, credibility and integrity of leadership”, it added.
The South East zone of the Nigerian Union of Journalists call on Governor Emeka Ihedioha to fully activate the contributory pension scheme which he earlier signed into law to lighten the pension burden and ensure sustainability of pension payment in the state, stressing that lmo State is thickly populated by workers in the Civil and public services which implies a bulk of potential pensioners hence the need for innovations.
