Monday Ubani San Assures GOMEP Of Partnership As National President Visits
Abia-born Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Monday Ubani, has assured the Guide of Online Media Editors and Publishers (GOMEP) of his commitment to partnering with the organization in promoting justice, equity, good governance, and societal development.
Ubani gave the assurance while receiving the National President of GOMEP, Comrade Otti Treasure, at his country home in Umuosoko, Awomukwu, Abia State.
Speaking during the visit, the renowned legal practitioner described the legal profession and the media as partners in progress, noting that both institutions serve as the moral compass of society. According to him, while the legal profession upholds the rule of law and protects the rights of citizens, the media plays a vital role in holding leaders accountable and shaping public opinion in the interest of the common good.
He stressed the need for value-based leadership at all levels of government, urging elected and appointed public office holders to remain committed to policies and programmes that directly impact the lives of the people.
Ubani further assured the organization of his readiness to work closely with GOMEP in promoting a fair, just, and equitable society where leadership remains sensitive and responsive to the needs, aspirations, and welfare of the people.
The Senior Advocate also commended the role of responsible media practitioners in deepening democracy and fostering national development through objective reportage and constructive engagement.
In his remarks, the National President of GOMEP, Comrade Otti Treasure, thanked Monday Ubani for his longstanding contributions to the legal profession, the defence of human rights, and the promotion of social justice in Nigeria.
He reaffirmed the association’s commitment to collaborating with stakeholders who share the vision of a society built on justice, accountability, and responsible leadership.
The GOMEP National President was accompanied on the visit by the National Publicity Secretary, Tochukwu Eluwa, and the National Treasurer, Charity Uwakwe (Distinguished Chacha).
