Imo Workers Salary increment: YOWICAN National Chairman Salutes Uzodimma …Says feat reflects true democracy

An altruistic, visionary and charismatic leader, politician and National Coordinator of South East Renewed Hope Agenda (SERHA) and National Chairman of Youth Wing Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN), Hon. Belusochukwu Enwere, has saluted Governor Hope Uzodimma for reviewing and increasing the salaries of public workers in Imo State.

Belusochukwu said the positive mark made by the APC and champion of Shared Prosperity administration reflects through democracy.

Obviously, the Governor, few days ago, publicly announced the increase in salary of public workers: Civil Servants, Teachers/Lecturers in Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Institutions of learning, Medical Doctors and other Health Workers.

In a chat, Belusochukwu observed that the rare feat by the Governor is a milestone, very inspiring and would largely spur public workers to be more dutiful and productive, thereby increasing the revenue generation of the state.

The Ahiazu Mbaise LGA born humanist, advocate of good governance and youth rejuvenation, stressed that the Increment of the Minimum Wage from #76,000 to #104,000, making Imo State one of the highest- paying employees in the public sector, is a worthwhile.

“Medical Doctors who used to earn #215,000 will start earning #503,000 – #508,000 (for entry-level positions), while Medical Doctors with senior positions will receive #1.2 million.

“Lecturers in higher institutions will earn #222,000 from #119,000,  while teachers’ salary had been increased from #76,000 to #104,000 (entry point) and #441,000 (end point). Other health workers’ salaries have increased from #77,000 to #108,000 (entry point) and #502,000 to #803,000 (end point)”, Belusochukwu added.

He emphasized that retirees have also been made happy as the State Government has  allocated 16 billion naira to clear outstanding gratuity arrears of pensioners, covering over 5,700 retirees across state and local government levels.

Belusochukwu who also saluted the APC and President Ahmed Bola Tinubu for stretching democratic governance, called on Imo workers to continue to exhibit discipline, work dutifully and productively to record more gains with a view to enhancing the revenue of the state to strengthen development.

Belusochukwu said he was very happy of the milestone achieved by the Governor who he described as a man of peace, great vision with impeccable character and development oriented.
