IMO FUND: Groups Petition Kingsley Uju, Others Over ISOPADEC’s N40bn fraud.

A duo indigenous pressure groups in the oil producing communities of Ohaji-Egbema and Oguta in Imo state identified as Youths Consultative Assembly and Supreme Council of Ohaji-Egbema and Oguta has called on governor Rochas Okorocha, past and present leaders of Imo State Oil Producing Area Development Commission, ISOPADEC to return all funds meant for the development of the area without further delay.

Speaking to news men in Owerri the Imo state capital, the leader of the group Mr Collins Ajia who doubles as the pressident general of the pressure group said the members of the associations have already submitted their petition against the past and present leaders of ISOPADEC at the office of the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

He discribed the leadership and activities of ISOPADEC for the past eight years under Governor Okorocha as total failure.

Narrating their prayers Chief Collins said the group seek that Governor Okorocha explain to the EFCC how he disbursed the 40% oil derivation fund.

They seek that Hon. Kingsley Uju, Mr. Andrew Nwokotubo, Mr Iyke Uwakwe and Prince Henry Okafor who are past and present leaders of the commission to account for 40% derivation fund released to them at their various tenures.

They require to know the amount budgeted and the amount spent on the ISOPADEC Secretariat building in Owerri.

While calling on Governor Okorocha to tell the people of Imo state especially those in the oil producing communities what he has done at the Maritime University in Oguta LGA, Chief Collins said the the project is nothing but a conduit pipe use to siphon the 40% ISOPADEC monies.

He maintained that the group under his leadership will not rest until justice is done to the matter.

Effort made by our correspondent to get the side of the leadership of ISOPADEC in the state proved abortive as neither the current nor the past leaders of the commission wished to comment on the matter when called upon.
