Imo Editors Forum extols Uzodimma, Imo NUJ on proposed media village
The Forum of Imo-Based Editors (FIBE) on Thursday extolled the Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma and the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) on the well conceived proposal to build media village for Journalists in Imo State.
In a release signed by the Chairman and Secretary of FIBE, Comrade Eze Adiuku and Comrade Chigozie Uzosike respectively and made available to newsmen, it stated, “This well thought-out idea will go a long way to alleviating the challenges of housing faced by Journalists in the state especially as hike of rent continues unrestrained”.
“The NUJ Chairman, Comrade Ifeanyi Nwanguma, JP, his executive, and other affiliate bodies of the Union have impressed members with such move that stands enduring”.
“The Editors Forum of the state cannot but applaud the Governor for accepting that a proposal be made available to him for the actualization of the lofty idea. While others were demanding for short-term needs during the recent phone-in program of the Governor, Imo NUJ stole the moment by urging His Excellency to allocate lands for Journalists for the sole aim of having a media village.”
“The Governor whom we know likes to break new grounds and till hard lands will not play with this challenge of providing one. It will be on record that the Governor will be the only Governor in the southeast if not Nigeria to build a media village for Journalists”.
“The FIBE called on the Governor to cast his name in the waters of time by donating a land for the building of media village. The Governor will immortalize himself while alive once the media village comes to fruition”.
“We equally commend the NUJ leadership across all levels for their wisdom of thought”. FIBE appreciates the Commissioner for Information, Strategy and Public Orientation, Hon. Declan Emelumba who has continued to support the Union’s progress and development”.
