Ikeduru PDP collapses into Senator Anyanwu’s Divine Mandate Project

Impressed by what they described as the progressive laudable and people-oriented programmes of Senator Samuel Anyanwu, the gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the November 11 governorship election in Imo state, members of the party in Ikeduru Local Government Area have collapsed into the project.

They have also vowed to deliver him as the next governor of the state come November this year.

An illustrious son of the area and former commissioner for Lands, Survey and Urban Development in the state, Chief Bon Unachukwu made this known in Owerri.

Chief Unachukwu who addressed mammoth supporters of Senator Anyanwu that cut across men and women in all the wards, autonomous communities, and youths of the area urged the people to disregard all vociferous and mudslinging against the person of Senator Anyanwu describing them as inconsequential coming from those he called well-known “Political Undertakers.”

He said that their claim of deserting PDP to another party was in keeping with the “Yoe man’s job” they were paid to do.

The former Commissioner drew the attention of the people to the calibre, pedigree and antecedents of those involved in the condemnable act describing them as inconsequential, with “itching palms”, going about without integrity and always looking for food in ready situations.

According to Chief Unachukwu, “they have increasingly become apprehensive of Senator Anyanwu’s rising popularity and support base and resorted to all sorts of campaign of calumny, misrepresentation and falsification of information and facts about Senator Anyanwu, in a futile effort to bring him down.”

A youth leader in the area, Mr Mark Ndu said they have decided to give Senator Anyanwu a block vote as a result of his wonderful programmes aimed at emancipating the youths from unemployment and end the wanton killings and oppression by the ruling party in the state.

“Senator Samuel Anyanwu (SAMDADDY) is our choice any day,” Ndu said.

The women were not left out as they pledged their unalloyed support and loyalty to PDP adding that they would not forget in hurry Senator Anyanwu’s uncommon assistance to the women.

They recalled that the governorship candidate gave them grants to start up businesses, offered scholarships to their children and the physically challenged in the area and beyond.

A strong pillar of PDP in Ikeduru and a retired high ranking customs officer, Chief Chris Akujobi thanked the people of Ikeduru for their support.

He assured them that Senator Anyanwu being a grassroots politician who had climbed from the bottom of administration to the highest would surely deliver the state from its present precarious situation.

Akujobi emphasized that Senator Anyanwu after being a local government chairman, two-term House member for Ikeduru, a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and above all a serving National Secretary of PDP, a leading political party in Nigeria, has all the experiences and contacts needed to govern Imo State better than any other person.

Chief Akujobi said that Imo is a PDP state and the people have resolved to take back their state.

The forum was attended by prominent sons and daughters of Ikeduru in respective of their political parties.
