New SOLADS, Commissioners Promise To Work With Lawmakers To Uplift Imo

By Vivian Iwu.
The Sole Administrator of Oru West and former ALGON Chairman, Hon. Willie Okolieogwo, on behalf of the sworn in Sole Administrators in the 27 LGAs in Imo State, has promised that for the kind gesture shown them by the Imo State House of Assembly members, they will endeavor to work in synergy with their various House Representatives.
This formed part of his reaction after the House of Assembly screened and confirmed them during plenary on Wednesday.
Chief Okolieogwo thanked the Speaker, Members of the House of Assembly and Governor Hope Uzodimma for appointing them, and noted that what they saw during screening and confirmation was remarkably different from what it used to be.
“We saw a House that is keen at doing the right thing. There is nothing like trying to extort anybody”.
He said, and expressed confidence in the 3-R Government of Governor Hope Uzodimma to take Imo to enviable height.
Also, on behalf of the new Commissioners, Barr Jerry Egemba, expressed surprise at the quality and character of Members of the Imo State House of Assembly under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Kennedy Ibeh, pointing out that all that he needed to scale through the confirmation was the quality presentation of his Resume, and his ability to convince them that he will deliver on his appointment.

“I have never seen it like this before. I was asked to come with my documents and I came. That is what you needed to see. For me this portends hope for Imo State. I have worked with the Rt Hon Speaker before, and what I saw today confirms my thoughts”, he stated with satisfaction.
Meanwhile, earlier addressing the successful SOLADS and commissioners the Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly, (IMHA) Rt Hon Barr Kennedy Chidozie Ibeh, urged them to ensure they live up to expectations in their new assignments.
He congratulated them for being found worthy of appointment by His Excellency, Governor Hope Uzodimma, pointing out that the only way to show appreciation is for them to be good ambassadors of the 3-R government, which according to him, will uplift their various local governments.
According to him, the administration of Governor Hope Uzodimma and Imo State House of Assembly have abolished the old practice where some unparliamentary expectation is made of the nominees by the House members before they are confirmed.
