Emekuku Ezeship Impersonation Matter, Forgery of Certificate Come Up In Court March 22, 29
The Magistrate Court sitting in Owerri, adjourned the matter concerning Obi Royal Family of Ancient Emekuku autonomous community Ezeship Impersonation to March 22, 2023.
At the previous sitting, the presiding Magistrate, Mrs. Stella Jeo, had told the parties involved to ensure that they appear in Court on the adjourned date for further hearing which is on Wednesday this week.
Defendants in the matter had explained that Prince Nze Reginald Obi is the Crown Prince and the Eze- elect of Obi Royal Family Stool of Ancient Emekuku having been selected by the people who they noted dwelt on the dictates of Emekuku monarchic custom which states that a Crown Prince who is the oldest person in the Royal family succeeds their king when he dies after going through the Electoral College which is made up of the family elders.
The defendants also insisted that Calistus Ejeshi Amadi- Obi who they said parades himself as traditional ruler of Emekuku is not the traditional choice of the people as he was alleged to have maneuvered his way to the throne during the Rescue Mission administration led by Senator Rochas Okorocha.
In a related development, the Magistrate Court also adjourned the Emekuku traditional Stool Forgery case to March 29, 2023, for further hearing.
The Magistrate, Hon. Ada Ego, said the matter was adjourned to enable the plaintiffs and the defendants prepare themselves well.

However, one of the plaintiffs’ lawyers who anonymously spoke to our reporter after the Court sitting, hinted that the defendants allegedly forged the signature of the late Monarch of Emekuku, HRH, Eze Peter Ugochukwu, with the intention to change the constitution of Emekuku Town Union in favour of their wrong choice of Eze.
