Court Orders Trial of a Man who Falsified his Age
An Owerri Family Court had on Thursday ordered that Chiagorom Chidera, who falsified his age be tried in a normal Court.

The Court adjourned the matter to July 25, 2019 for further hearing. But the police accused Chidera Chiagorom alongside 16-year-old student, Samuel Madu, of breaking into the home of a 79-year-old Godfrey Amadi and carted away his household items.
The Prosecution Counsel, Mr Oscar Mbaeri, told the Court that the defendants committed theft, contravening Section 287 of the Penal Code.
Mbaeri said that Amadi, who is from Ulakwo, Owerri North local government area, Imo state, reported the matter to the police upon his return on March 1, 2019.
He maintained that the birth date (Dec. 12, 2001) which Chidera Chiagorom gave the Court contradicted the Dec. 12, 1999, which was obtained from his Church during police investigation.
He begged the Court to further charge him with attempting to deceive the Court, as according to him, he had falsified his age.
Counsel to the defendants, Mr Gregory Okemili, told the court to proceed with the matter.
