“We’re Sorry”- Former Imo APGA Aspirants Begs Oye
Kenneth Opara

Barely one year after the primaries of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in Imo State, the former governorship aspirants on the platform of the party have expressed regrets over their reactions to the outcome of the contest.
Nine of the former aspirants, it was reliably gathered, have appealed to the National Chairman of the party, Chief Victor Ike Oye, to forgive them and welcome them back to the party.
A source close to one of the aspirants spoke to our correspondent, saying: “Increasingly, my boss and his fellow contestants have realized their mistakes. They have realized how unnecessarily they have run down a man who did nobody any wrong. But I also think they regret allowing the internal enemies of Oye use them to fabricate false allegations against him.

“Though my boss was not among those who claim Oye collected money from them, he has however since felt sorry having realized that he was deceived into joining the protest against a completely innocent man. He along with some others with living consciences has made efforts to reach Oye and apologize to him.”
Recall that former National Chairman of the party, Senator Victor Umeh, has consistently been at war with his successor, Oye, the latest of which being the leaking of the email purportedly sent to Gov Obiano by Umeh which was riddled with unsubstantiated claims against Oye by the now remorseful former Imo governorship aspirants.

Efforts to reach Oye on phone to get his reaction proved abortive, as he neither took the calls put to him nor returned them.
