An American based COGIC prelate, the people’s Bishop Kenneth Obi, has assured Igbo people that their dream of gaining independence from Nigeria will be realised soon.

Bishop Obi gave the assurance shortly after he and his delegation received the Honourary Citizens Award of the State of Georgia on behalf of Mazi NNAMDI KANU as presented by the Georgia secretary of state Brad Raflensperger.
Bishop Obi who is Edo COGIC Prelate and senior Pastor Divine Word International COGIC, Owerri branch, accompanied Former Consul General of Nigeria in South Africa, Ambassador Uche Ajulu Okeke to receive the award from State Representative of Georgia Honorable Gabe Okoye.
U. S Retired Naval Officer CAPT. Alexander C. Ezika-Michael and the American based prelate, the Honorable Bishop Kenneth Obi and others were there to witness the occasion.

The prelate who has not relented in his effort to seek the freedom of Nnamdi Kanu from what he describes as unlawful imprisonment by the Federal government, said the honour done Nnamdi Kanu by the state of Georgia USA should send a clear message to the Nigerian government that they are fighting an innocent man.
Bishop Obi who is a popular advocate for good governance, wondered why the Nigerian government would jail a citizen for exposing corruption and for seeking the independence of his people.
He expressed optimism that Nnamdi Kanu would regain his freedom and independence of Biafra actualized soon.
