ThankGod EMEH…
The news of the inauguration of the Uju Charity And Empowerment Initiative, UCEI on November 6, 2024, at Rockview Hotels Owerri cannot be overemphasized as the impacts of the launch still resonate as the event marked tremendous success across boards.
The inaugural event, which launched the NGO’s Endowment fund of One Hundred and Fifty Million Naira, attracted well-meaning Imolites from all walks of life, including government officials, Civil society organizations, and traditional rulers who graced the occasion to throw in their support for the service of humanity.

The people who heralded the birth of a one-of-a-kind NGO (UCEI) that has come to speak truth to humanitarian promises and services in society, commended the founder, Ambassador Chika Uju for her insights and resolve to take her generosity to a greater level to further better the lives of the needy whom she had over the years assisted in one way or the other.
The Uju Charity And Empowerment Initiative, at the launch, offered scholarships to over Twenty (20) needy students and pupils across the local government areas of the state, while Eleven (11) needy Widows were given business cash support to revive their businesses alongside transport fares as well as consolation items, which included stationery and sanitary items among others given to other beneficiaries including a widower and a blind man.

The event was, however, laced with testimonials and goodwill messages for the Founder, Ambassador Chika Uju, who could not contain her joy for actualizing the long-time dream as she danced and sang with joy with the beneficiaries.
Addressing the people at the Inauguration, the Founder of Uju Charity and Empowerment Initiative (UCEI), Ambassador Chika Uju thanked all and sundry for their show of love, noting that her love for humanity was drawn and improved from the philanthropic gestures of her late father-in-law, father and husband who derived fulfillment like herself in seeing people smile hence she charged everyone to be their brother’s keeper.

“The Uju Charity and Empowerment Initiative is dedicated to providing scholarships to indigent students, supporting and empowering widows, the girl child, and the needy in society.
“I am delighted to state that the foundation is registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and the Imo State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare thereby, having the full authority of the law of the Land to operate as a Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) devoted to charity and empowerment of the deserving people.

Ambassador Uju however called on the Federal and State governments thoroughly assess the programmes of NGOs and possible involvement in diverting palliatives meant for the people.
“The foundation had earlier paid the hospital bill of a man abandoned in one of the hospitals in Owerri and equally made donations to some flood victims We thank God immensely for the realization of these objectives.

In her address earlier, the Organizing Committee Chairman Barr.Chief(Mrs) Ebere Vivien Chinyere Orji said inaugurations are not merely commemorative events but are vital milestones in affirming UCEI’s credibility, quality, and commitment to serving Humanity and also as a service organization established to empower our brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, and children who are in need.

“As the Holy Books say in Matthew 26:11, it brings to our attention that the poor and needy will always be amongst us. Therefore, it becomes a duty bestowed on us to care for them. This is what the Uju Charity and Empowerment Initiative stands for”.
