Rivers: PDP reacts to declaration by Amaechi’s candidate, Awara that he defeated Wike

Rivers State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has lambasted the governorship candidate of the AAC for claiming he won the election in 15 of the 23 LGAs.
Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, backed Biokpomabo Awara after court stopped the All Progressives Congress (APC) from fielding a candidate.
On Saturday, Bro Felix Obuah, PDP Rivers chairman said Awara was confused and accused him of speaking from both sides of his mouth.
He said his actions have showed “desperation to reap from where he never sowed.”
Obuah noted: “The AAC Guber Candidate, while displaying his frustration over his woeful performance in the guber elections, claimed that he defeated Governor Nyesom Wike in seven (7) Local Government Areas; and in another breadth, claimed he won in fifteen (15) Local Government Areas.”
The statement signed by his spokesman, Jerry Needam, also condemned the APC leader in the state and Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, for attempting to get a third term through Awara.
“The gang up between Awara and Rt Hon Chibuike Amaechi is bound to fail. Awara’s emergence into the scene was the result of an evil conspiracy to destroy the State.
“You cannot get something out of nothing. A snake would always beget a long thing and no matter how much a leopard tries, it cannot wash off its black spots,” Obuah added.
He advised the APC and Awara to stop wasting their time and energy and further declared that Rivers people have already given Wike a second term mandate.
