Onwuemeodo blasts Ezurezu Mbaise, says adopting Ihedioha is Politically Clannish

The Chief Press Secretary to Governor Okorocha of Imo state, Mr. Sam Onwuemeodo has in a press release made available to news men on Sunday, 6th January, 2019 blast the apex socio-cultural organisation of the people of Mbaise -Ezurezu Mbaise over the adoption of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP’s guber flag bearer, Hon. Emeka Ihedioha as its sole candidate in the forthcoming 2019 Imo guber elections.

Mr. Onwuemeodo who captioned the release “2-MAN SQUAD WITH TOY GUNS CALLED EZURUEZU MBAISE & THE ADOPTION OF IHEDIOHA” said he would have entitled his work, “Ezuruezu Mbaise and the Kposhi-Kposhi Adoption of Ihedioha for governorship” but on the second thought decided to go with the above caption.

In his words, “It is not out of place for any group to adopt any governorship Candidate of its choice. Individuals can come together to adopt their preferred Candidate or Candidates. But that of Ezuruezu Mbaise was mischievous and deceitful. It is very unfortunate that Ezuruezu Mbaise which Chief I.D. Nwoga had made the envy of others when he held sway as its President-General has been reduced to a 2-man squad with toy guns. And by virtue of its name or creation, Ezuruezu Mbaise Mbaise should not have dabbled into partisan politics. It was not meant or formed to be involved in partisan politics. But Chief Bon Nwakanma (May his Soul rest in peace) and Nze Agunwa made Ezuruezu Mbaise a branch of Aboh Mbaise Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP with Chief Emeka Ihedioha in focus”.

He continued, “I was just laughing when people were wasting their time and energy reacting to the adoption of Ihedioha by the so-called Ezuruezu Mbaise some days ago. With such reactions, they had tried to give life to a lifeless body. When you talk about Ezuruezu Mbaise today, you are talking about Hon. Oliver Enwerenem who has taken the position of the life Secretary of the toothless group. Then one Chief Anyanwu. That is all. And they cannot call meetings in Mbaise and see Mbaise people in attendance. You will only see Chief Ihedioha’s aides and Ward Officers of the PDP. You should not call such gathering Ezuruezu Mbaise. Do not also forget that there is another faction of Ezuruezu Mbaise led by a retired Immigration Officer. If you ask me or if you want us to be honest to ourselves, Ezuruezu Mbaise led by Chief I.D. Nwoga, Mni, as President-General in the late 90s and so on, does not exist again. Nwoga had ensured that Mbaise people, home and abroad were involved in the operations or activities of Ezuruezu Mbaise. On July 10, 1997, Chief I.D. Nwoga personally wrote as the President-General of the august body nominating me, Mr. Tim Azubuike and John Agbakwuru as members of the 3-man Publicity Committee for the 1997 Iriji Mbaise. But today, Hon. Enwerenem and Anyanwu would answer Ezuruezu Mbaise with some PDP Ward Officers and few aides of Chief Ihedioha. After adopting Ihedioha, what else? Just to appear as if the group is still in existence. If Ezuruezu Mbaise was to be for Mbaise people, could they have embarked on a meaningless exercise by adopting one Candidate out of about four Candidates from the area?”.

“To further prove to you that Ezuruezu Mbaise of today has become Sure-P or ATM or MMM to few elements, Mbaise has five clans. Viz; Agbaja, Ahiara, Ekwereazu, Ezi na Ihite and Oke-Ovoro. Or, three Local Governments including Aboh, Ezinihitte and Ahiazu Mbaise. Then, who were those from these clans or Local Governments who met and adopted Ihedioha? Let them publish those in attendance if they meant business.”
