Igbo National Council Blast FG on Re-submission of Bill Seeking Control of Waterways, banks …Describes Move as Devilish and Enslaving
The Igbo National Council, INC has outrightly condemned the re-submission of a bill to be pass into law seeking the Federal Government’s control over all waterways and their banks in Nigeria.
The Council in a press release issued by its President, Chilos Godsent
and signed by the Secretary General, Zulu Ofoelue stated that the proposed Executive Bill will cause great national anarchy which will threaten the fragile peace in the crises ravaged Nigeria.
According to the release, “not only is the proposed Executive Bill malicious, devilish and enslaving, it’s a neo-colonial Bill meant to colonize and enslave the entire Southern Nigeria coastal region.”
They expressed disappointment that the Federal government led by President Muhammadu Buhari which ought be concerned about the wellbeing of the entire nation has always seek the welfare of a particular region of the country at the detriment of others, describing the bill as evil, obnoxious and neo-colonial.
“The Igbo National Council (INC) received with great surprise and disappointment on the President Buhari led Federal Government, the news of re-submission of the evil, obnoxious and neo-colonial Bill seeking the Federal Government control of all waterways and their banks in Nigeria.”
“We are very much aware that the said Bill is geared towards using the instrumentality of the Federal Government to fraudulently establish a legal framework that will aid the brutal criminal invasion and seizure of the Southern Nigeria peoples land and territories for the Fulani Expansionist Nationalist Movement as agenda to conquer Nigeria by hook or by crook.”
On the foregoing, the INC advised President Buhari to desist from sponsoring such “obnoxious dangerous neo-colonial Bill”, rather he should sponsor a Bill to abrogate a good number of Anti-democratic and Anti-development sections of the current constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria that was fraudulently smuggled into the Constitution by Rt. Gen Abdulsalam Abubakar led military council.
They noted that “Section three(3), and chapter thirteen(13) First Schedule 1 of the 1999 Constitution, and to immediately repeal in the same chapter thirteen (13) Second schedule Part 1 – Exclusive Legislative List and Part 2 Concurrent Legislative List, and Section 153, as in Third schedule Part 1 of the 1999 Constitution.”
The Igbo National Council called on the National Assembly and the good people of Nigeria to massively rise up to resist and reject the proposed Bill as was the case during the Senator Bukola Saraki and Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogora led National Assembly.
