Nigeria at 60: Igbo Youth Assembly Lauds Buhari on Achievements, Urges Nigerians To Promote National Unity
As Nigeria celebrates 60 years independence anniversary, the foremost Igbo youth socio- cultural organization, Igbo Youth Assembly Worldwide, has lauded President Muhammadu Buhari on his sterling performance and achievements so far especially on job creation, fight against corruption and insurgency including youth empowerment and agricultural revolution.The group had tasked Nigerians home and in diaspora to always promote national unity and peace for even development.This is contained in a statement signed by the President- General and Secretary General, Igbo Youth Assembly Worldwide, Mr Ifeanyi Nwaudunna and Casmir Nnadozie Irekamba and made available to journalists in Owerri, on Thursday.According to the group, “as Nigeria marks her Diamond Jubilee Anniversary, there are so many achievements and successes of Nigeria gained by the President Muhammadu Buhari led APC administration which have placed Nigerians in the celebration mood today”.
The statement continued, “the massive infrastructural developments that spread across the country. The construction and re-construction of so many projects on roads, rail stations, bridges, including the Second Niger Bridge. The improvement on electricity supply. Agricultural revolution through the home grown economy policy”.Igbo Youth Assembly Worldwide, added that “today, Buhari’s government has put Nigeria in the pact of food security and sufficiency. The local content policy has shown that Nigeria can eat and be sustained with what the country has produced.
The youth have taken the advantage of so many intervention and palliative loans and grants of the government in agricultural programs to boost food production. With this agricultural revolution program, many youths are making good living through agriculture”.The group said “youth restiveness has drastically reduced because of the social investment programs of Buhari’s administration, as several youths have been gainfully engaged through N-Power, Trader – Money, Grants and loans. The fight against corruption is yielding positive result. President Buhari’s administration has recovered looted funds. Nigeria is now winning the war against insurgency, kidnapping, militancy and banditry”.IYA Worldwide was happy that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari is recording huge success in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic in the country, having improved on rule of law and tenet of democracy in Nigeria”.The assembly maintained that “Nigeria is better progressed and developed as one united, indivisible entity. The diversity of Nigeria should be the strength and stronghold of the country because united we stand and divided we fall. We appeal to Nigerians to support Buhari’s administration and promote government policies to move Nigeria forward”, warning the “separatists and secessionists to desist from actions that pose threat to national unity, peace and progress”, kicking against “hate speech on any person or ethnicity in Nigeria, but rather indulge in the patriotic and civil programs that will move Nigeria towards progress and development”.©️News Corner.
