SCHOLARSHIP: Ngoforo Foundation Sends 16 Ideato North Students to South Africa, Canada
By Emma Njoku

No fewer than sixteen Ideato North students have benefited from the first batch of the scholarship scheme of the Ngoforo Foundation.
The beneficiaries, consisting of eleven undergraduate and five postgraduate students, have had their admissions secured in South Africa and Canada and all other expenses fully footed by the Foundation. While ten are to study in South Africa, the rest six are for Canada.
Speaking at the event on Thursday on behalf of his son who is among the beneficiaries, Mazi Anthony Ugbaja revealed that this is the biggest breakthrough his household has witnessed in his lifetime. He also said that he has confidence in the capacity of his son, Nnaemeka, to excel in Canada and return with laurels.
Another beneficiary, Chizoba Paul Awalite, expressed excitement that his dream of being a pharmacist has come to pass. He thanked the Chairman of the Ngoforo Foundation, Franklin Ngoforo, for his philanthropy, and prayed God to continue to bless him.
Briefing newsmen after the event, Franklin Ngoforo lamented that the long years of bad political representations in Ideato North have left human capital development in tatters.

His words, “We have had leaders who don’t care about the younger ones, who don’t plan a future for our teeming youth population. Any society that fails to build a future for the youths is already doomed,” he said.
Ngoforo, the Omeiheukwu of Ideato, also affirmed that, “Through my Foundation, I intend to impact positively on the lives of our people. The target is to raise an army of educated, skilled and prosperous young people in Ideato North who will be a blessing to humanity.”
Recall that the Ngoforo Foundation had earlier disclosed that it has endowed the sum of N100 million as its empowerment funds for the years 2019 and 2020.
