Obodo Amaimo To Celebrate “Community Day” 2nd January 2023, Invites General Public …As Chief Akaraonye Gets Recognition

The People of Obodo Amaimo Autonomous Community in Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo state has called on the general public to join them in celebrating their day amid recognition of some of their illustrious sons on 2nd January 2023.

The ceremony tagged “OBODO DAY Celebration” is geared towards appreciation and dedication to God Almighty for His mercies as well as encouraging indigenes of the Community.

The “Obodo Day Celebration” which is an annual event in the community will take place at Amaimo Central School Field by 12:00 on Tuesday, January 2, 2023 with the President General, Executive Home and Abroad and dignitaries from all walks of life across the state gracing the occasion.

At this event, the immediate past Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Imo state Council, Chief Christopher Akaraonye, UGWUMBA OBODO will be recognized with an award of Excellence among others.

The proposed award for Chief Akaraonye according to the the leadership of Obodo Amaimo Autonomous is in recognition of his outstanding contributions and leadership strides as one of the best President Generals of the Community.

The recognition of the former Imo NUJ Boss according to the president General of the community, Hon Placid Ugorji and organizers of the event is equally to celebrate his successful tenure as well as his peaceful and examplary handover to the incumbent Chairman of Imo NUJ, Comdr Ifeanyi Nwanguma.

The occasion which will be chaired by Chief Asenus Ogaraku, (Akunaesiobike 1) of Amaimo will be attended by
notable dignitaries in and outside the community which includes, the Chief Host, Distinguished Senator Samuel Anyanwu, National Secretary of PDP, HRH . Eze Victor Achionye (Udo 1 of Obodo Amaimo) as ROYAL FATHER OF THE DAY, Engr . Nnamdi Ihuoma (President of Amaimo Progressive Forum) as SPECIAL GUEST OF Honour.
