“Dear Eze,
RF: DISPUTE OVER EZE UKWU EMEKUKU THRONE –
CONFERMENT OF TRADITIONAL CHIEFTAINCY TITLE IN TOTAL DISREGARD OF PENDING SUIT OVER THE RIGHTFUL OCCUPANT OF THE THRONE”
“We act for the Obi Royal Family of Ezedibia, Emekuku on whose instruction we write to you on the above subject matter.
1. It has come to the attention of our clients and some other members of the Emekuku Community that you have embarked on preparations to confere chieftaincy title alongside other public engagements during the Christmas period and the end of year 2024.
2. Our clients have watched with dismay your activities and conduct within and outside the Community in the effort to launder yourself as the legitimate occupant of the Eze Ukwu Emekuku throne. Although you presently hold the certificate of recognition issued you by the Government of Imo State, the fact that your claim to the throne is still being seriously contested in the High Court of Imo State calls for respect, caution and due acknowledgement of ongoing judicial proceedings.
3. We will like to remind you that among the reliefs sought by your opponents in Court include a remedy of injunction restraining you from acting or parading yourself as Eze Ukwu Emekuku. The implications on the nullification of many of your actions and activities in the event of your being distooled is very profound.
4. The embarrassment the situation will cause the eminent personalities and unsuspecting dignitaries who you are offering chieftaincy titles will be untold,in the event that you vacate the throne.
5. Any law abiding citizen will not take judicial proceedings as trifle and wil endeavour to avoid any thing that is likely to bring embarrassment to the Community.
6. The Emekuku Community and the throne is not a personal property or a tool of propagander.Every well meaning Emekuku indigene is a stakeholder and will not support acts that will likely expose the throne to ridicule and disrepute
“Our clients are of the very strong view that you do not embark on the venture of conferment of titles in the circumstance,as that will amount the abuse and disregard of the law, with obvious consequences.
†The above is for your information and compliance. You have our assurances of the highest regard.
Yours faithfully
CHRIS.O.AHUMIBE,ESQ”
