Imo NUJ Holds Bye-Election, As Members Elect 3 Officials
The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Imo State Council has conducted bye election during her month of May Congress to fill in three vacant positions.

The NUJ Chairman, Comrade Ifeanyi Nwanguma JP who presided over the Congress noted that there was need to ensure that the executive is complete having been without the three positions for over a year, adding that since these offices were not contested during the main election, the Congress, according to the NUJ constitution elected the new officers during her month of May Congress.
After the whole process of nomination and voting, Comrade Chigozie Uzosike of Newspoint Chapel emerged the Assistant Secretary unopposed, Comrade ThankGod Emeh of Starpost Chapel emerged the new Treasurer while Comrade Emeka Ihiegbulem of Correspondent Chapel emerged the Financial Secretary of the Union.

The swearing-in was administered by the Zone C National Trustee, Sir Innocent Igwe. He urged the newly elected officials to do their best to uphold the tenets of the profession by being among others, good ambassadors of the Union.
The NUJ Chairman, Comrade Ifeanyi Nwanguma JP lauded the Congress for their understanding, commitment and support for his leadership. He used the opportunity to call on Journalists to do their job professionally as they are the agents of change that the society looks up to.

The Zonal Secretary, Zone C, Comrade Eze Adiuku who observed the process, noted that there is need for the members of the Union to queue behind the chairman who has alot of good ideas for the Council. He charged the new Assistant Secretary, Treasurer and Financial Secretary to make sure they align with the vision of the chairman to lift the bar of Journalism in the state.
