NUJ VP felicitates with Abia Council chairman on appointment
The Zonal Vice President of Nigeria Union of Journalists (Zone C), Comrade Eze Adiuku, JP has congratulated the Abia State Council Chairman of the Union, Comrade Chidi Asonye on his appointment as the new Station Manager of ZikFm 96.3, Umuahia.
In a release signed by his Special Assistant on Public Communications, Elder Chigozie Uzosike and made available to newsmen, Adiuku said, “I have no doubt that Asonye has what it takes to pilot the affairs of the radio station having garnered the experience and capacity over the years as a professional journalist who knows his onus. He has exhibited high level of professionalism and stood on the path of ethical principles and ethos of the media profession”.
“I want to urge him to bring his wealth of experience and exposure to bear upon his new office and equally proof the fact that journalists can actually make a mark in areas of leadership and administration”.
“It will be recalled that Comrade Chidi Asonye joined the media outfit about three years ago, as a News Editor and Presenter, and has produced editions of radio programmes, including HooHaa, O Di Egwu, Azum Ahia Di Ire, Ekpere n’Ofufe, among others”.
“Comrade Asonye is a prominent figure in the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Abia State Council, even as he currently serves as the Chairman of the Council, having held various leadership positions within the union. He is a seasoned journalist with more than three decades of experience in the field, having worked in several editorial roles even as he is known for his commitment to promoting intellectual development, positive narratives, and innovation, especially among young people”.
“Asonye was inaugurated as a member of the National Executive Council of the NUJ and had also served as the pioneer chairman of the Unity Federated Chapel of the NUJ in Abia State”.
